Northern California Shambhala Hospitality - Lodging and Transportation InformationNorthern California Shambhala is expecting many visitors for the Rigden Weekend. In order to extend every possible welcome to our friends from away, we are offering the following arrangements intended to make your visit as pleasant and fun as possible. We suggest that all visitors fly in and out of Oakland airport, in order to be nearest the Saturday and Sunday venue, and to arrive no later than 2 pm on Friday, March 2nd in order get to their accommodations and then to the talk. Two very good hotel options have been arranged for your convenience: Four Points by Sheraton and Hilton Garden Inn.These hotels are close in proximity and have access to public transportation from the airport: BART MacArthur: http://www.bart.gov/stations/mcar/schedule.aspx and the Emery GO Round: http://www.emerygoround.com/schedule-maps. For more information about public transportation from the airport to these hotels, scroll down this page. For shuttle, limo, and taxi information, click here. We highly recommend the first option, Four Points by Sheraton, as the price of the room includes transportation to and from the Grace Cathedral and The Craneway (scroll down this page for shuttle details). Four Points by Sheraton in Emeryville, located near the San Francisco Bay Bridge, has a special group rate of $105 for a single and $112 for a double and both rates include free transportation by bus (accommodates 60 people) to and from the Friday evening public talk at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco and the Saturday and Sunday program at Craneway Pavilion in nearby Richmond. The cut-off date for booking these rooms was February 15th. Hilton Garden Inn San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge has accommodations at our group rate of $119. The cut off date for this rate was Thursday February 16th. Public Transit Information From the Oakland airport, one takes a bus to BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit, a regional train system,) and then a train to the MacArthur station, just five stops away. At the MacArthur station, take the free Emery Go-Round van shuttle (the Shellmound/Powell line only) to the Four Points by Sheraton hotel. Four Points by Sheraton Shuttle Service Information Friday, March 2nd to Grace Cathedral in San Francisco Departure time from hotel: 4:45 pm The Bus will be at the Hotel to pick you up at 4:30 pm and should arrive in San Francisco before 5:30, when registration opens. After the program, the bus will depart Grace Cathedral for the hotel at 9:15 pm. (Time will be adjusted to the program as necessary.) Saturday and Sunday, March 3rd and 4th to Craneway Pavilion in Richmond Departure time from Hotel: 8:00 am The Bus will be at the hotel to pick you up at 7:45 am and will arrive at program venue by 8 am, when doors will open. Departure time from the program venue to the hotel: 6:15 pm. (Time will be adjusted to the program as necessary.)
