footer-sun.gifThe Shambhala Educational Path

The Shambhala Training program is now being presented as part of the Way of Shambhala curriculum developed by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. Students are encouraged to take the Shambhala Training Levels I-V which are weekend programs. Then between weekend Levels, students can deepen their meditation practice in the Way of Shambhala classes. Together, these classes and weekend programs enhance the profundity of one's understanding.

Shambhala Training Levels I-V and the Meditation in Everyday Life and Contentment in Everyday Life classes provide a strong foundation in mindfulness-awareness meditation practice. These programs emphasize the development of genuine confidence, humor, and personal dignity within the complexity of daily life. These weekend workshops and classes are recommended for new and experienced meditators, as well as anyone looking to enrich their existing spiritual tradition. Workshops and classes may include meditation training and practice, talks by senior instructors, personal interviews and group discussions.

The Sacred Path - The Graduate Levels of Shambhala Training

The Sacred Path program introduces further warriorship practices that extend the basic meditation training.  These practices are based on a societal vision and aspiration to help the world. During a series of visionary experiences that took place between 1976 and 1980, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche wrote down the Shambhala texts. The Sacred Path is based on these texts.

We plan to offer the Sacred Path teachings again starting in Fall 2010. If you would like to receive the Sacred Path teachings in the future, please plan to take the Way of Shambhala classes listed above. Completing the Way of Shambhala will be a prerequisite for moving on in the curriculum. If taking all of the Way of Shambhala classes is logistically impossible for you, please let us know.

If you have questions about the changes to the Sacred Path or what to do after Level V, please contact Kara at Kara11 at mac.com
