Working with the 8 Dorje Kasung Slogans will help us face the chaos and uncertainty of our world with bravery and compassion.  We uncover how we can put our meditation practice into action, applying it in our daily lives, in our relations and in our endeavour to help this challenged world.

Meditation in Action: The 8 Slogans of the Dorje Kasung

Dorje Kasungship is both a practice and a service to others. Chogyam Trungpa initiated the Dorje Kasung (‘Indestructible Dharma Protectors’) in the ‘70s, transmitting teachings and practices for us to work with our own sense of being, in order to manifest bodhisattva warriorship. The path of kasungship offers skillful means on how to protect and support teachers, teachings and practitioners. It encourages us to promote genuine wakefulness, victory over aggression, and to work with our challenged world, now and in the future.

First in a series of three programs —
View • Intelligence and Mind-Protection

This is the first in a series of three Saturday programs and each session will consist of a talk, practices and discussions. We will also explore exercises we can use throughout our day’s activities. Below is the full listing so you can mark your calendars!

  • Session One: View – Intelligence and Mind-Protection
Saturday, October 19  We will explore how slogan practice supports our path and discuss and look into our experience of the first three Dorje Kasung slogans.
  • Session Two: Practice – Going Beyond Fear and Aggression
Saturday, January 18 2025  We will review our meditation-in-action experience and begin working with slogans four and five.
  • Session Three: Action – The Power of Gentleness
Saturday, February 8 2025  We will review our experience of the first five slogans, discuss the remaining three slogans, and explore our intention and our practice path of manifesting, going forward.

Though these programs are months apart, it is ideal to participate in all three sessions, which build on each other and offer the entire teachings about the Dorje Kasung Slogans. Working with these slogans, knowing and understanding them, is an important element of being a Dorje Kasung, and will help anyone who aspires to join the kasung path and serve their community.
